It is the Church

It is The Church
There is a place to go
When trials and troubles come
A place that lifts you up
And Makes you feel at home.
You’ll find your brothers there
And Sisters with their lace
This place away from home
Is filled with love and grace.
Refrain
It is the church, God’s house
The Sanctuary too.
God’s called out ones
His Sheep, His blessed Assembly too.
‘Tis heaven on earth this place,
Where All may come and see,
Not relics on display,
But folks like you and me.
The world with all it’s trials
It’s hatred and it’s woe
Is left outside the doors
Forgotten in the cold.
Inside there is a peace
And warmth and happiness,
A love and fellowship
Too wondrous to express.
Refrain
It is the church, God’s house
The Sanctuary too.
God’s called out ones
His Sheep, His blessed Assembly too.
‘Tis heaven on earth this place,
Where All may come and see,
Not relics on display,
But folks like you and me.
I love t o hear the choir
And congregation too
Sing praises to the Lord
In message ever new.
There is no other place
Where songs sung from the heart
Will life the soul above
And cause fear to depart.
Refrain
It is the church, God’s house
The Sanctuary too.
God’s called out ones
His Sheep, His blessed Assembly too.
‘Tis heaven on earth this place,
Where All may come and see,
Not relics on display,
But folks like you and me.
There is no other place
Where God’s man weekly stands
He points the way to heaven
And Righteousness demands
It’s PREACHING that we need,
Not WORSHIP GOD AT HOME
With Godly piercing words
That make a sinner moan.
Refrain
It is the church, God’s house
The Sanctuary too.
God’s called out ones
His Sheep, His blessed Assembly too.
‘Tis heaven on earth this place,
Where All may come and see,
Not relics on display,
But folks like you and me.
The most important time
Is at the sermon’s end
When sinners walk the aisle
And hardened spirits bend.
The Holy Ghost comes down
And Takes away the pride,
He opens up the heart
Where not a thought can hide.
