Violin and Cello duet “Jesus Paid it All and Lest I Forget Gethsemane”

With full respect given to Elvina M. Hall, 1865

Jesus Paid It All:

  • I hear the Savior say, “Thy strength indeed is small; Child of weakness, watch and pray, Find in Me thine all in all.”For nothing good have I Whereby Thy grace to claim; I’ll wash my garments white In the blood of Calv’ry’s Lamb.
    • Refrain: Jesus paid it all, All to Him I owe; Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.
  • And now complete in Him, My robe, His righteousness, Close sheltered ’neath His side, I am divinely blest.
  • Lord, now indeed I find Thy pow’r, and Thine alone, Can change the leper’s spots And melt the heart of stone.
  • When from my dying bed My ransomed soul shall rise, “Jesus died my soul to save,” Shall rend the vaulted skies.
  • And when before the throne I stand in Him complete, I’ll lay my trophies down, All down at Jesus’ feet.

Lest I Forget Gethsemane

  1. King of my life, I crown Thee now,
    Thine shall the glory be;
    Lest I forget Thy thorn-crowned brow,
    Lead me to Calvary.
    • Refrain:
      Lest I forget Gethsemane,
      Lest I forget Thine agony;
      Lest I forget Thy love for me,
      Lead me to Calvary.
  2. Show me the tomb where Thou wast laid,
    Tenderly mourned and wept;
    Angels in robes of light arrayed
    Guarded Thee whilst Thou slept.
  3. Let me like Mary, through the gloom,
    Come with a gift to Thee;
    Show to me now the empty tomb,
    Lead me to Calvary.
  4. May I be willing, Lord, to bear
    Daily my cross for Thee;
    Even Thy cup of grief to share,
    Thou hast borne all for me.
